Toronto – August, 2006 - Recreation and leisure pursuits are an important component of health and well being, and yet these are often the most difficult opportunities to access for people with disabilities. Barriers include physical design, affordability, a lack of belonging or entitlement and attitudinal barriers. We know that a concerted effort to improve access and inclusion will trigger transformational change.

Ottawa – December 3, 2004 – As part of the celebrations for the UN International Day of Disabled Persons, Famous Players and Cineplex Galaxy LP, Canada’s largest movie exhibitors, in conjunction with a group of nine (9) National Disability Organizations, today introduced a new card that will allow persons with a disability to receive either free admission or a significant discount for their support person when attending a movie.
